Should a 12 year old girl "wait alone" for a school bus right off a busy HWY?

I drive buy her every morning at 7:00. I can't believe the school would allow a young lady to wait alone on a street corner that’s a used car lot, open field, and a busy hwy. I can only guess how may predators drive by this pretty much defenseless girl everyday. What can I do to protect her?
