I live in Pittsburg, Ca and I was wondering how much the Hayward Fault would effect my community.?

The Hayward Fault doesn't go through Pittsburg, Ca, but is about 30 miles away. If there is a major Earthquake from that fault line, I'm pretty sure we would feel it, but would it cause any life threatening damages? Is there an estimated time we can expect a "big one"?
