How do I seek recourse in a case of NYC police misconduct?

File a complaint with the New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board. I would also contact NYPD internal affairs and file a complaint with them as well. And as far as this type of stuff happening everyday,I believe that is very correct. And it truly seems to me like unless you are severely injured or have a video of the abuse by the officers, nothing will come of the complains. But I do believe that it goes on the officers "Jacket" or record. And after multiple complaints this can effect promotions and the like, so by all means file the complains.
