Can any one help me with the insurance guy lyle from animal crossing : wild world?

um i talked to lyle because i thought he wasnt gonna bug me about the insurance since i already bought the accident insurance so he wouldnt let me quit until i bought the damage insurance for $6,000 but i dont know what that was for? can anyone help me, or tell me what that insurance is for?
