What can I do to get my job back after I've been (sort of) fired?

I have/had a job I loved and was getting great feedback about how well I was doing at it. The problem is that I inadvertently lied on my application. I thought my degree was listed one way and my college is saying it was listed another (the school and I have having a little chat about that). Anyways, I did not mean to misrepresent myself. The company has not fired me, but is not putting me back on the schedule until it is resolved (which would mean going back to the same school and getting the degree I listed on my app - not likely). I only need a H.S. diploma to work here, so I was considering reapplying to the job I still technically have. What should I do?
